Zynga has added the ability to upgrade your Noodle Shop in CityVille. This Noodle Shop, if you're remember, was unlocked to users that finished the Lunar New Year goal back in February.

But what if you never completed that goal? Do you still have to pay the 15 City Cash to unlock access to it? The answer is a resounding "NO" (thank goodness), as Zynga has unlocked access to the building for all users, regardless of whether or not they finished the Lunar New Year Goal, or, for that matter, if they weren't even playing the game back then.

While the Noodle Shop may seem like a weird follow up to the Bakery upgrades (ok, it doesn't just seem weird, it is weird), the process works in the same way. Each time you collect and supply your Noodle Shop (the basic Noodle Shop requires 90 Goods), you'll earn a point. When you reach 125 points, the Noodle Shop will hit level two, where it will then require 120 Good to open and will earn 600 coins in profit (more than the default 405 coins). To speed up the process, you can ask your friends to help you, with each friend adding five points to the upgrade process.

You can upgrade a third time by earning more points, or asking more friends to help you, eventually bringing you to level 3. This level requires 155 Goods to operate, and will reward you with 800 coins each time you collect your profits. Remember, your Noodle Shop will also change in size and design as it levels up, so if you like the quaint look of the starting building, you might ignore asking friend for help to slow down the process.

We'll make sure to let you know when additional buildings are given the chance to upgrade, so keep checking back with us.

Whelp, Zynga went and done made a boo-boo--or did it? The Big Z has inadvertently revealed the next few sets of animals that might be coming to the Zoo in CityVille. A CityVille forum contributor named Leahcimx spotted a sidebar advertisement last night that reads, "Collect arctic, safari and outback animals for your zoo.

CityVille Zoo Ad

Each collection unlocks a custom enclosure and earns you more coins." While Leahcimx chalks the reveal up to potential typos, those would be some elaborate typos, don'tcha think?

Still, at least the player gives Zynga the benefit of the doubt. However, this potential reveal is all the more believable considering the Mountain habitat was released to the CityVille Zoo recently.

This new habitat allows for 50 more Population and unlocks after all the Savannah animals are acquired. It offers Raccoons, Foxes, Lynxes, Rams, Elks and Wolves for collection. If this random advertisement holds a lick of truth, however, there are plenty more worldly critters where that came from.

Jay and Silent Bob would be proud. Zynga has released the first promotional image of Malls, an upcoming feature in CityVille.

CityVille Malls

There are little to no details on this new building, just a blurb from the developer that reads, "Malls are coming soon! Get ready for some great benefits and perks too! Stay tuned, you won't wanna miss out!" If you're asking for our educated guess (or wild speculations), we'd imagine that Malls will be another community building. However, we hope that they will come with those additional features Zynga has been teasing since the release of the Visitor's Center.

Until these Malls are released, they'll have roller coasters and hover cars inside them ... at least in your dreams.

In case you hadn't noticed, the name of game lately in CityVille is "upgrade." It all started with the Police Station upgrades, and now the Emergency Clinic has its own tiers of effectiveness and style. Thanks to Frank the Architect, you can now boost your Emergency Clinics' (Yes, you can have more than one.) Population cap, Energy output and even their chances to drop Ribbons. And don't worry, with us, enhancing your Clinic will be easy peasy.

CityVille Emergency Clinic Upgrade

Before we dive right into making some pimpin' Clinics, let's get a few things out of the way. While you're allowed more than one Emergency Clinic, you must upgrade each one individually, and deleting a Clinic will reset the process. If you have a completed Emergency Clinic, you should see the option to upgrade it when you reach 750 Population. Mouse over the Clinic, click on it and you will see this screen below:
CityVille Emergency Clinic Level 2
Emergency Clinic Level 2

In order to upgrade to the second level, you must add six of your friends as staff members, much like any other Community Building. To do this, just click on the "Hire Friends" button and you'll be taken to a screen where you can send recruitment requests. This next level supports 100 more Population for a total of 300, and increases your chance to receive more Energy and Ribbons when collecting from it.

Once you reach 2,300 total Population, you can access the third and final level of the Emergency Clinic. Click on it to cause the screen below to appear:

CityVille Emergency Clinic Level 3
Emergency Clinic Level 3

Thankfully, you only need to add three more staff members for a total of 15 to complete this upgrade. Just use the same "Hire Friends" button to snag those final three staffers. Your reward for completing the Emergency Clinic is 250 more Population for a total of 550, and an even higher chance to receive extra Energy and Ribbons when collecting from it. Not to mention it'll look even more like that fancy hospital downtown.

Along with the recently released International Food Festival Goals in CityVille, we've also seen a release of themed decorations, the celebrate diversity and different countries. You'll receive one of these items - the Fruit Stand - as a quest reward, while the other eight items are available to purchase in the store.

For those that like adding one of every business to their town, you'll be able to purchase three: a Greek Restaurant, Indian Restaurant and Thai Restaurant. All of these businesses come with the same stats. They cost 2,500 coins to build, require 75 Goods to open and operate and will offer you 330 coins in profit each time they run out of stock.

To decorate these three buildings, you can purchase matching flags: a Greek Flag, Indian Flag, and Thai Flag are now available to purchase for 200 coins each. Each flag offers a 1% bonus to the payout of nearby buildings. Remember though - even if you don't want to build these ethnic food joints, these trees would look great outside City Hall, or any other government-esque building you have in your city, if you're going for a realistic appearance.

Meet us behind the break for a look at the other items that are available.

In addition to these restaurants and flags, you'll also be able to purchase two decorations: a Duck Pond costs 15 City Cash but offers a 14% bonus to surrounding buildings, while an Umbrella Table will give your citizens a place to eat all of these yummy new foods. You can purchase a single table for 500 coins (it offers a 4% bonus payout), or you can even stock up if you'd like to create a large outdoor dining area in the middle of a park or shopping center in your town.

But that's not all! Three other items have been added to the game recently, and come in the form a new item for your City Zoo, a new community building and a home. The Savannah Zoo Gate costs 30 City Cash, and must be placed near your Zoo in order to give off the 3% bonus to its payout. Unfortunately, this bonus doesn't apply to other buildings. As for the two other items, a Phone Company company can be purchased for 80,000 coins. It allows for 1600 extra citizens to live in your town, and you can immediately go to work filling in those extra spaces by purchasing a Hacienda for 40 City Cash. The Hacienda adds 450 citizens by default, but can be upgraded at random to the 700 citizen mark. You'll gain 260 coins every time you collect your rent.

All of these items seem to be permanent to the game, with the exception of the Hacienda, which will be available for less than two weeks. Whether or not its limited time availability justifies its high price tag, however, will be up to you.

Is CityVille headed for the beach? A screen shot that several players of Zynga's city-builder are posting on the forums suggests at least something close to that. CityVille fans first noticed Edgar, the resident millionaire in CityVille--well, besides you--hanging onto a helicopter Diehard-style, looking through a pair of binoculars a few days ago. Now, the original thread has ballooned to a 24-page long speculation fest, and rightfully so.

CityVille Edgar

Judging from the looks of the screen shot, Edgar is looking toward an area we've yet to be able to expand to: across the river. More specifically, players like Provinica, who posted the original image, seem to believe that we're headed to the beach area across the river. If you look closely at the image, you'll see a blue sign at the roads dead end that signifies the ocean.

If that's the case, then this likely wouldn't be a full-blown expansion akin to FarmVille English Countryside or FrontierVille's Oregon Trail. Rather, it would simply be a larger content update than usual, probably opening some sort of bridge over the river. It all appears to add up, but anything said of the upcoming feature is pure speculation at this point.

CityVille Leaning Tower
Alright, we'll even admit that the Landmarks in CityVille are a tad on the useless silly side. Regardless, Zynga has released yet another of these real life landmark-inspired Population boosts to the game: the Leaning Tower. The new building goes for an immense 3 million coins and will raise your city's Population cap by 1,250. Not to mention you'll need some help from your friends to build this massive structure.

Build the Leaning Tower
After giving the Leaning Tower a few whacks for a total of 10 Energy, clicking on the building again will cause the above screen to appear. If you've been keeping up with your game, you should already have a few of these items stockpiled in your inventory. But you will likely need to ask for a few of them:

5 Ribbons
5 Levelers
5 Marble
5 Arches
5 Protractors

The Arches, Levelers (heh, get it?) and Protractors are the items you'll most certainly have to ask for, as they're unique to this Landmark. Once you've added these items to your Wish List and asked your friends directly, the Leaning Tower will soon be completed, granting you one cool-looking building ... and not much else.

Zynga is not only delivering Kung Fu Panda 2-related content in CityVille, they have also launched a new 5 goal series, the International Food Festival that’s been introduced by Farmer Rita. As always, we are the first to have the details about this new mission series in CityVille, so read on to find our everything about it!

Jack Black–er–Po, the Kung Fu Panda, has drop-kicked his way into CityVille to promote his next big flick, aptly-named Kung Fu Panda 2. Players who log into the game will be greeted by CityVille Sam, who couldn’t be more excited for Po’s big arrival. (She’s a video game character, would you expect any less?) The promotion ushers in a new Goal that you will have to complete by May 31 to trade in a Kung Fu Panda Collection and receive the coveted Po Statue.

cityvillekungfu1 Kung Fu Panda 2 belly flops into CityVille with in game promotion

After being greeted by and accepting the Kung Fu Panda Goal, you will have to place the drive-in theater building. Then, whack the structure three times and supply it with 60 Goods to get things started. Next, you’ll just have to Collect from the quasi-business (and resupply it) enough times to complete the Kung Fu Panda Collection:

As we previewed earlier this week, a system of business upgrades has now been launched in CityVille, with the first business capable of upgrading being the Bakery. Similar to upgrades to your Community Buildings like the Bank or Post Office, your Bakery can be upgraded two times, with each upgrade making the Bakery larger and grander in appearance, and also triggering it to produce more profit, but at a higher cost of Goods.

To be clear, the starting Bakery earns just 40 coins for 10 Goods supplied. To complete the Upgrade process, you'll work through a simple goal called "Upgrade a Bakery!" which requires you to simply have a Bakery in your town, supply it with Goods, and finally upgrade it. To upgrade the Bakery, simply click on the building and you'll see the menu like the one above. You can either upgrade simply by repeatedly collecting profits from and supplying your Bakery with Goods, but you can also speed up the process by asking your friends to help you upgrade.

Meet us behind the break for more on this upgrade process and what to expect once you complete the job.
Your overall goal is to reach 200 points to upgrade your Bakery, with each friend that helps adding ten points to your progress. Once you upgrade to a 2-star, Level 2 Bakery, your building will require 40 Goods rather than 10, but will offer you 170 coins in profits, over the original 40 coins. Repeat this process all over again, and you'll eventually hit the 3-star, Level 3 Bakery, which requires you to spend 120 Goods, and rewards you with 540 coins each time you collect from the building.

As you might expect, this upgrade process must be completed separately for each individual Bakery you currently have in your town. That is, you'll need to upgrade each Bakery individually, either paying City Cash to unlock points, or simply asking your friends to help you out. Furthermore, while this is currently the only business that allows for upgrades in your city, Zynga has stating that this is just the first of many business upgrades that will eventually launch in the game. We can only expect further upgrades to work in the same way, so keep this method in mind (and lots of helpful friends on hand) for the future.

CityVille’s Facebook fan page is teasing an upcoming feature — the ability to upgrade your businesses for bigger rewards. Text from the fan page:
“Get ready to upgrade businesses in your city! Stay tuned for opportunities to upgrade your bakery – receive better payouts and sport a new look!”

812payout2 1305658630 CityVille business upgrades coming soon

And here’s some additional text we discovered in the wild, which seems to indicate that, along with these upgrades, you will be able to save some space in your city.
“Want better business payouts while saving space? Business Upgrades are Coming Soon!”

How exactly that will work — we don’t know, but I suppose we will find out sooner than later.

As with many other Zynga games, CityVille is hosting its own Mother’s Day event, offering users the chance to purchase two new businesses, along with offering a discount on City Cash.

The two businesses are the Perfume Shop and the Candle Shop, with the Perfume Shop being available only for the next week.

The Perfume Shop, being the more exclusive item, costs City Cash – 32 City Cash, to be exact.

You’ll supply the business with 150 Goods to get started, and can then collect 800 coins from the building by default.

The Candle Shop, meanwhile, costs just 2,500 coins to build, and requires only 100 Goods to run. You’ll earn 420 coins each time you collect from the building, without the help of any surrounding bonus decorations.

As for the City Cash “discount,” this is again a situation where bonus might have been a more appropriate word. For all players that redeem a Game Card (bought in the real world) or an eCard (bought online), you’ll receive 20% more City Cash than you would normally. You won’t save any money on your purchase of the Gift Card or eCard – your money will just go to buy more City Cash in the long run. This sale will be available until May 8 at 9PM PST, so don’t miss your chance at free City Cash while it’s available!

When the Hardware Store was released in CityVille last month, many players quickly went from excitement to annoyance at the fact that

A) You had to use 35 building materials to build it and
B) It never really released enough bonus building materials when collected from it, even though we were assured building it would be worth while.

That all has changed with this week’s update, however, with Zynga offering two changes.

The first will help those that simply stopped before they ever really got started, by removing the requirement to collect any additional building materials to finish your Hardware Store’s construction.

That’s right, even if you had never asked for one of these items from friends, the next time you log into the game, you’ll be given the ability to name your automatically completed building.

ou may have received this message when trying to send a donation to a neighbor’s zoo: “You cannot accept this reward.”

According to a “Super Moderator” on the Official CityVille forums,

zoodonation

“Hello Citizens,

There is a limit to the number of donations you can send and receive every 24 hours. This limit is 12 donations sent and received (combined) every 24 hours, which means that each time you click on a neighbor’s link it counts towards the 12, and each time one of your neighbors click on your link, it counts towards the 12. Once you have reached this limit, you will receive the ‘You cannot accept this reward’ message.

While we already brought you a complete guide to the new Zoo Goals in CityVille, the building itself has been released officially in the game this week, and we've got all of the info you need to bring in the tourists with your habitats full of wild creatures! The Zoo is acquired at level 17 or higher, and you'll start with just a basic Habitat, being given to you Karen, a new character (and animal lover) in the game.

The Habitat is a square item, requiring six energy to build. Building it will complete one part of the first Zoo Goal, which should be noted only has two of the three tasks required that we initially believed. You'll only need to build the Jungle Habitat and then Place a Jungle Animal to finish the goal. To "place" the Jungle Animal, you'll need to click on your Zoo to be taken to the building's interior, as seen at the top of this post. You'll be given an animal for free (it can be random), and can place the animal into your Zoo by simply clicking on the "Place" button underneath it.

As the Zoo is basically a glorified collection feature, you'll need to collect a set of Jungle animals before being able to unlock other "habitats" within the Zoo. To collect more animals, you'll be able to post simple news feed requests for new animals. If your friends help you, they'll have a chance of receiving an animal as well, but you can only ask for more animals every eight hours. For each new animal you collect, you'll receive an increase to the Zoo's payout, with the Zoo working as any other business. That is, the Zoo has a built-in timer, and when the timer runs down, you'll collect the profits from your Zoo, resetting the timer.

While you may be satisfied with the way your Jungle Habitat looks on its own, as you complete the Zoo goals, you'll also have a chance of unlocking zoo-specific decorative items. The first item, for instance, is the TIcket Booth, which is an entirely separate item, with its own (large) footprint, that must be placed next to the Zoo to have any real effect. These types of decorations will only interact with the Zoo, and therefore must be placed within the same general area. In our example, the Ticket Booth adds an 11% bonus to your current Zoo payout.

As for the other zoo-themed items released, they are split between those that work as the Ticket Booth, only giving a bonus to the Zoo, and those that work as stand-alone businesses. The businesses are the Zoo Cafeteria and the Zoo Gift Shop. The Cafeteria costs 6,000 coins, requires 130 Goods and offers 585 coins when the Goods are used. Meanwhile, the Gift Shop costs less at 5,500 coins, and only requires 80 Goods to function. You'll gain 352 coins by default each time the Goods are used.

So far, the only other habitat available to unlock in the Zoo is the Savannah Habitat, but an in-game menu confirms that more are coming soon. We'll make sure to let you know when other animals are added to the Zoo, but for now, start asking your friends for these Jungle animals to start your Zoo off with a bang!
