Well, you can't say I didn't warn you. The Circus Caravan has packed up shop and rolled on out of CityVille, leaving a gaping hole in the game's store for limited edition items. Don't worry though Mayors, a new theme has already launched in a new country-inspired Farm theme. Just as with previous themes, this one comes complete with businesses, homes and even a Mystery Crate, some of which are fancier than others. Here's a complete look at the new items.
Ingram House
•60 City Cash
•Population: 1600 - 3200
•Rent: 20 coins every five minutes
Cow Ranch (Home)
•90 City Cash
•Population: 3000 - 5500
•Rent: 156 coins every hour
Rustic Shack (Home)
•3000 coins
•Population: 80-160
•Rent: 170 coins every four hours
Saddles Shop (Business)
•9000 coins
•Requires: 225 Goods
•Earnings: 1284 coins
Hay Bale (Decoration)
•500 coins
•1% bonus payout
Oaty Oats Factory (Community Building)
•60 City Cash
•Allows 1800 citizens to live in your town
As with previous themes, the Hay Bale (and presumably any future decorations that will/may be released in the theme) offer a bonus payout when placed next to other Farm items, but unfortunately, the Hay Bale doesn't offer a boost to current Farm items, like our Goods storage items or farm plots
Additionally, you can also purchase a Farm Mystery Crate for 45 City Cash, which will contain a Cow Ranch, Oaty Oats Factory, Ingram House or an Antebellum Home, which right now isn't available for a single purchase. This home offers at least 2400 citizens to your town, and can be upgraded to 4600 citizens via random upgrades. It's an uncommon prize in this Mystery Crate (the Oaty Oats Factory and Ingram House are the most common), so you may need to purchase more than one crate to end up with all four items, if that's your goal.
Currently, all of these items are limited edition, save for the Hay Bale which looks to be permanent. The limited items will only be available for the next week, so make sure to go shopping now while these items are still readily available.
If you liked building and then operating the Go Karts ride in CityVille and are looking for another ride to add to your virtual amusement park, you'll be happy to know that Zynga has released a second attraction to the game: a Pirate Ship Ride. The ride costs 5,000 coins to purchase from the store, but of course simply purchasing the base is only part of the battle.
After placing it, you'll need to collect a series of ingredients, but if you're lucky you might already have five of them sitting around. Here's a rundown:
•5 Ship Prows
•5 Safety Nets
•5 Gold Plating
•5 Jolly Rogers
•5 Overhead Bars
Again, you might have the Gold Plating already in your inventory, leaving you to collect the other 20 items. You'll be able to ask for the Ship Prows and Jolly Roger flags via general news feed items posted to your wall, while the Safety Nets are earned through individual gift requests sent directly to friends.
Once you've finished building and have opened the Pirate Ship Ride for guests, you'll be able to watch the ride run for five minutes at a time, with 2,000 - 5,800 coins being earned each time you set the ride into motion. In order to re-open it, you'll either need to wait for maintenance to complete, or collect wrenches with friends to re-open it sooner. It doesn't require Goods to operate, so you don't necessarily have to operate it at all (or build it, for that matter), but it's just so cool that I can easily justify the space it takes up in my town.
As a few notes, if you have both a Go Karts track and Pirate Ship Ride operating in your town at the same time, all of the Wrenches you collect are used as one request. That is, if you ask for Wrenches to operate your Go Karts, you can't ask for Wrenches within the Pirate Ship Ride shortly thereafter. Additionally, you'll need to be at least level 25 to access this feature, which may not have rolled around to your account yet.

Is your CityVille town filled with Red Barns, Cargo Sheds and Silos, or are you simply running out of room to place buildings? Would you like to store more Goods in less space? If you answered yes to either question (who wouldn’t want to store Goods in less space?), you’ll be both pleased and saddened by my news: a new Super Cargo Shed has been released in the game, allowing you to store a whopping 4,000 Goods in a single building.
But wait – how can that be bad? Simple – a single Super Cargo Shed costs 50 City Cash to build in your town. If that price is worth it to you, you’ll be able to tear down some other buildings that provide the same amount of Goods storage, or can simply add this to your existing setup for a major boost.

Slowly but surely, the Dam feature has started rolling out to users in CityVille, but watch out: You need to be at least level 50 to receive this new source of hydroelectric power. Once you've received the Dam, you'll need to start the lengthy process of building it.
First and foremost, there's only one particular portion of the river (to the right of your town) that the Dam can sit on, and you must have your town already touching this square in order to build it. That's right, you might be looking at expanding your city before you can ever build your Dam, as seen below.
From there, you'll need to collect quite a few building materials to actually set the Dam into motion:
14 Rotors
14 Flood Gates
14 Turbines
14 Canal Locks
14 Generators
After this has been done, you'll still need to "whack" your Dam 15 times to finish the building process. In this way, we're actually looking at a reverse of the normal business process, where you whack the frame and then collect items, but I digress. Once you complete the 15 whacks, you'll instantly receive 31 free energy, launching you back up to a full bar to make up for the trouble. This extra point brings your current maximum energy total to 31, but there's a catch.
Overall, the Dam can be thought of as a sort of long-term business, without the customers. You'll need to routinely supply the Dam - at least once every 48 hours - to keep your boosted energy cap, or else you'll lose your bonus. To be specific, for each day after the first 48 hours of supplying you fail to re-supply the Dam, you'll lose a point, eventually dropping you all the way back down to the original maximum energy of 30. It should be noted that your energy level will never, ever decrease below 30; instead, the range of 31-37 energy points is the fluid portion.
Finally, if you're a daily active player, once you reach the current new maximum of 37 energy points, if you continue to resupply the Dam (as often as every 12 hours), you'll simply maintain the boosted cap. Unfortunately, it won't increase any higher than 37, no matter how much we may want it to.
As I can expect this fluidity to the maximum energy cap to frustrate some players, we'll make sure to keep an eye on things, to make sure Zynga doesn't pull a switch and change the feature. Also, this is a slow roll-out to users, so if you don't have the Dam in your city yet, don't be alarmed. Just make sure you have plenty of Gift Requests ready for the day, so you can ask for those parts as soon as you receive it.
This new function will give select Residences a new look and increase their bonuses like population boosts. If you’re Level 15 or higher, the following Goal will appear in your game:
Paint the Town!
Place and Complete the Remodeling HQ
Remodel 5 Residences
The ability to place the new building will be included in the Goal’s menu. Once it’s placed, it will take 10 clicks to complete the foundation. However, it doesn’t appear to require friends to finish like most new functional buildings.
Once the Remodeling HQ is complete, an arrow will appear above the select tool–click it to reveal a new mode: Remodel. Select the function to cause all Residences that are available for remodeling to appear with a floating icon. These are the Residences you can remodel now:
Cozy Cottage
Family Townhouse
Country Home
Terraced Brownstone
Apartment Complex
Timeshare Tower
Bay Point Duplex
Surely, Zynga will introduce the ability to remodel more Residences later on. When you click on a Residence that can be remodeled, a menu similar to the old Build Menu will appear, displaying all the options there are to remodel your building. (Remodeling is handled per building, meaning remodeling a Cozy Cottage will apply to just that Cozy and not every one you own.) Most of these options cost mere Coins, but there are options available for City Cash, of course.
Hovering over each options will reveal what bonuses it provides, too.Once you select the new look, your building will appear with a scaffolding around it. The amount of clicks required to complete each remodeling job seems to vary, but each click will cost one Energy. The final click will reveal your new-and-improved Residence, new stats and all.
