Hey CityVille players - are you looking for a way to increase your maximum Goods storage capacity, without building tons of space-wasting Barns and Silos? How does the idea of increasing your storage capacity by 1200 Goods with a single item sound? If you like the sound of that, then be sure and check out the Super Grain Elevator in the game's store. Available only for a limited time, this Super Grain Elevator allows you to increase your maximum storage by 1200 Goods, all in a tiny 2x2 space on your land.

Of course, such a convenience doesn't come cheap, as the Super Grain Elevator costs a whopping 55 City Cash. Still, this lovely purple building (what? purple is my favorite color) comes with a great storage capacity, and could even allow you to remove other storage buildings entirely to increase the amount of space you have available for more crop plots or even businesses and homes. There's a lot of give and take with this one; you give Zynga a lot of money, but you take a lot of storage (and potentially land space) back in return.

Does that make it worth it? Ultimately, you won't have forever to decide, as this one has been marked as being available for a "limited time" in the store. Of course, it would be helpful if we were told exactly when it will expire, but for now that information hasn't been made available. Your safest bet would be to purchase one sooner, rather than later, if you plan on eventually doing so, just to make sure it doesn't leave the store before you have a chance.

Apparently, the Race Invaders Timed Goal in CityVille went over fairly well, as Zynga has followed that up today with a new timed goal called Pedal of Honor. Also referred to as "Leader of the Pack," this goal is only available to players level 50 or above, and has three tasks that must be completed within three days for the ultimate prize (but we'll get to the prizes later).

Ask 20 friends to join your Bike Crew
Send 100 Tour Buses
Collect from Water Bottling Plant 2 times

The Water Bottling Plant is a community building that costs 125,000 coins to add to your town, and requires you to staff it with 12 friends to open. From there, you'll be able to collect from it once every 24 hours. While you're waiting for the Water Bottling Plant to "recharge," you can add friends to your Bike Crew by posting a general wall post, asking all of your neighbors to help at once.

If you've got really receptive friends, you'll be able to finish this goal within three days, rewarding you with the Gold Trophy. Along with this shiny trophy, you'll unlock a Cyclist Statue, 28,000 coins and a Boulevard Apartment. Don't worry, even if it takes you longer than three days, you still have a chance at the shiny Cyclist Statue, as the Silver Trophy also earns one, along with the 28,000 coins. Unfortunately, if you earn just a Bronze Trophy, you'll only receive the 28,000 coins, and none of the other goodies.

If, for whatever reason, you don't like to be rushed, it's presumable that this goal will remain available indefinitely, offering you the Bronze Trophy prize, as is the case with the Race Invaders goal which is still available. Should a time limit come into play with this one eventually expiring entirely, we'll make sure to let you know.

Apparently, one Odd Day in CityVille isn’t enough, as Zynga has released a second (self-proclaimed) unusual set of goals in the game today, dealing with Ruth and Edgar’s trip to the Zoo. Appropriately enough, the goal series is called “Odd Day at the Zoo,” but they’ll only be available to players that have already finished the original Zoo goals in the game. Again, these aren’t to be confused with the “Odd Day with Rusty” goals, which were released earlier this month. We’ll do our best to keep them straight for you, so check out our guide to completing this newest set below:

A Date at the Zoo

Collect from Jungle Habitat 1 Time
Get 2 Disposable Cameras
Collect from your Zoo Cafeteria 3 Times

Ruth wants to see the Ostriches (she says they’re like “tall pigeons that can’t fly”), so you’ll need to help her do just that by asking your friends for two cameras via a general news feed post. Meanwhile, if you’re looking to plow through the Zoo Cafeteria task quickly, just remember to only supply the Cafeteria with Goods, rather than multiple businesses at once. That way, your citizens have to go to the Cafeteria, as there are no other businesses open in your town at the time! Finish this first goal, and you’ll earn 480 coins.

I Love Zoos
Supply 25 Businesses
Have 1 Savannah Habitat
Collect from the Savannah Habitat 5 Times

To earn the Savannah Habitat, you must first unlock all of the animals in the Jungle Habitat. From there, you’ll simply need to wait a few hours between collections to eventually make it to five. The reward for finishing this goal is the Ostrich Buddies decoration, which offers a 5% bonus to surrounding homes or businesses.

Feathered Friend

Have 1 Ostrich House in your City
Harvest 35 Corn
Get 8 Ostrich Eggs

The Ostrich House seems to be the Ostrich Buddies decoration from the last goal, but with a different name. That being the case, you should be able to find it in your inventory, and can place it into your town for free. Meanwhile, corn takes an entire day to grow, so you might plant some corn early, if you know that this goal is coming, so that you don’t have to wait later. Finishing off this final goal in the series (as of this writing) grants you 19 XP (I’ll leave you to decide whether or not that’s enough).

You know, these goals really weren’t that odd. It seems like through them, Ruth and Edgar were able to have a great day at the zoo, even if Ruth is a bit of an eccentric in her obsession with ostriches. Perhaps that’s why it was an odd day? Either way, if you’re looking for something to do in your city, aside from decorating it for Zynga’s beachfront contest, why not give these goals a go?

Earlier this week, Zynga launched a series of British-themed items in CityVille, consisting of homes and businesses, along with some fun decorations. Now, you can further expand upon your mini-Britain by purchasing even more items in the theme, with these newest items being limited edition (unfortunately, you either purchase them now, or you’re out of luck… likely for good).

There are three new homes and two decorations here, so check out the full details for each below.

Earns 195 coins in rent every 18 hours

It appears that Zynga has finally listened to those who were stating that the upgrade process in CityVille is very boring and the company decided to add a twist for the upgrade process of the latest upgradable building in the game, the City Works. If you want to find out everything about the new mechanics, check out my CityVille City Works upgrade guide!

First of all, it’s worth noting that you can only start the upgrade of the City Works when you reach level 9 and you have a total of 1150 population. Once you get there, simply click the building and you will see the upgrade menu. You will need upgrade parts to complete it, as seen in the image below:

You can collect the required items by asking friends or paying with city cash. Once you get your City Works to level 2, the new building will support 650 population and will have an improved look.

Things are similar if you want to upgrade the City Works to level 3: you will need a new set of upgrade materials and the level 3 City Works will support 1,050 population.

As Far Eastern companies attempt to enter U.S. social gamers’ devices, American companies like Zynga are already abroad. Zynga announced a partnership with Tencent, a leading Internet service provider in China, to launch Zynga City in open beta on Pengyou in the country.

The game, essentially a Chinese version of its mega hit CityVille, is set to launch on the Pengyou network within a few days. From there, Tencent plans to make the game accessible on QZone, its main social games platform.

If you remember correctly, CityVille was the first Zynga game to release in multiple languages at launch. But localizations for regions like China and Japan take far longer, as the divide between our two countries is arguably more cultural than with other nations like in Western Europe.

Chinese Zynga City players will enjoy items, quests and other content that is heavily influenced by Chinese culture, according to a statement. But the game will also have game mechanics that stem from Chinese cultural nuances, like the ability to send street peddlers to your friends’ cities.

The development and continued support for Zynga City will be handled by Zynga China, acquired by the company when it was still XPD Media over a year ago. While the game will first release on a few Tencent platforms, eventually the company plans for Zynga City to be played over several platforms–including Pengyou, Weibo, QQ games, QZone and Q+–within Tencent’s Open Platform. Now, will this count toward CityVille’s already 80 million players? If that’s the case, then the competition has a city’s worth of work on its plate.
